LAFAYETTE’S 5 Annual ‘ROCK THE PLAZA’ SERIES


LAFAYETTE, CA – JULY 2, 2009 -- The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lafayette and Red House Studios today announced this year’s summer music series: “
Rock the Plaza”.

The ‘
Rock the Plaza’ series will take place Friday nights in August at Lafayette’s [Elam & Margaret Brown Plaza Park] at the corner of Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Moraga Road. The headliners start at 6:00pm and are presented free of charge. Arrive a little early for a good spot on the lawn. This year’s line up:

  • Friday, August 13 STAGEFRITE
  • August 20 PACIFIC – COAST BAND
  • August 27 TOTAL ECLIPSE


“Lafayette has countless numbers of musicians, both aspiring and accomplished, as well as music fans,” said Raja Singh, owner of Red House and a Lafayette resident. “The ‘Rock the Plaza’ series is another great way for these musicians to share their music with the local community.”

What’s happening on Friday, August 6th, you ask? The Lafayette Summer Music Workshop will be hosting non-stop music being performed from 3:30pm – 9:00pm at Stanley Middle School. The annual jazz camp sponsored by Generations in Jazz features bands made up of this year’s attendees. We’ll begin the summer music at Stanley and then move Plaza Park for the next three weeks. Come join us for our fifth
Rock the Plaza season. Food and beverages will be available or you can pack a picnic. We will provide the music. Your job is to enjoy yourself!

Red House is
the destination for Bay Area musicians. Located in downtown Walnut Creek, Red House is a 5,000 square foot studio complex featuring a 100+ person performance hall, a ProTools recording suite, five private lesson rooms and three recording/rehearsal lounges.
